Film Theater Staff

The Traverse City Film Festival is seeking community-minded applicants who love movies and working with the public for our year-round world class movie theaters (The State Theatre and Bijou by the Bay) in downtown Traverse City, Michigan.

Seeking 2-3 (part-time or full time) Theater Staff who are available to work weekends (days and nights), and holidays

JOB DESCRIPTION & general responsibilities include:

• Exhibit professional, positive, courteous guest service skills
• Ability to put your best face forward with valued theater guests, communicate effectively, respond with accurate information, resolve any issues
• Work effectively with TCFF management team, nonprofit Board of Directors, co-workers, and volunteers
• Experience with recruiting or similar type work is an advantage
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, complete assigned tasks, go the extra mile for our theater guests
• Work as a supportive team member
• Maintain regular personal attendance for all scheduled shifts
• Ability to effectively multitask, including greeting theater guests, tearing and scanning tickets, checking IDs, directing guests, and answering guest questions politely, operating point-of-sale terminals in ticketing and concessions, control access to the theatre, ensure the security of all cash, receipts, and tickets
• Follow all procedures to ensure a safe work environment, as well as the safety and health of our guests
• Perform daily stocking duties
• Clean and maintain the exterior and interior areas of the theater including auditoriums, restrooms, lobbies, concession areas, and box office areas
• Perform custodial duties daily as necessary, including vacuuming, mopping, seat-cleaning, sanitizing restroom fixtures, etc.

Physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, include:

• Standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending on a frequent basis
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry it 100 feet

Staff are required to have full Covid-19 vaccination and follow all TCFF protocols and policies.

Work Location: Multiple Locations (withing 5 minutes walking distance)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
