Job Summary

As a Software Engineer at Fielmann USA, you will tackle challenging real-world problems, enriched by cutting-edge AI and AR solutions. We're seeking a passionate Full-Time Senior Software Engineer to lead a small team of developers to develop and enhance our customer experience platform. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and develop creative, compelling, and cutting-edge large scale distributed systems that support our customer experience enhancement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding.
• Design, develop, and implement intuitive software solutions to elevate customer interactions on our platform.
• Review code of other team members and provide constructive direction.
• Develop and refactor responsive frontend and backend web applications.
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility in development and testing.
• Design and develop efficient and scalable APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform user needs into technical solutions.
• Optimize existing software applications for enhanced performance and reliability.
• Participate actively in all development lifecycle phases, from concept to deployment and support.

Technical Requirements

Frontend Development: Fluent in frontend development with CSS, JavaScript, and HTML, including an understanding of CSS preprocessors like Sass and LESS. Experience with MaterialUI is beneficial.

JavaScript Frameworks: Demonstrable experience with React.JS and Node.JS.

Backend Development: Proficient in developing Python and Node.JS back-ends and consuming APIs.

Database Management: Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Version Control: Working knowledge of version control using Git.

Software Engineering Practices: Understanding of good Software Engineering practices, including clean code principles.

Additional (Desirable) Skills

Mobile Development: Ability to develop mobile applications and prior experience in mobile app development.

Cloud Services: Some experience with PaaS solutions like GCP, AWS, and a willingness to learn more.

Serverless Architecture: Familiarity with serverless architecture, including designing and implementing solutions that leverage cloud functions for scalable, efficient applications without the need to manage server infrastructure. This includes an understanding of event-driven, microservices architecture and the ability to optimize for performance and cost.

Containerization and CI/CD: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and CI/CD processes.

Machine Learning: Experience in deploying machine learning models is an asset.

Shell Programming: Experience with shell programming, such as bash or ksh.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software development.

Degree Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering or related fields.
