Field Welder/Installer

Position Summary: The Field Welder Installer will work at our facility or construction sites. The Field Welder Installer must understand the metal fabrication, processes, and procedures. Display qualities of which very little supervision is required. Ability to weld various applications: MIG, ARC proficiently. Ability to adapt to changes and think outside the box to keep projects moving forward.

Experience, Education, and Skills Required:

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience required

· Solid understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards including fabrication, and erection

· Ability to read and interpret documents, drawings, manuals, blueprints etc.

· Capable of using measuring instruments such as micrometer, caliper, and tape

· Strong mathematical aptitude using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions

· Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills necessary

· Attention to detail and must be extremely organized and always committed to safety

· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and staff

· Quick thinking, sharp and resourceful

Position Function and Duties:

• Interprets blueprints and constructs products
• Exhibit good troubleshooting capabilities to be able to correct fabrication problems.
• Can follow instructions both verbally and written.
• Prep work with grinders, sanders etc.
• Confers with engineering, management staff and fabrication employees in order to comply with procedures and production schedules.
• Proper utilization of hand tools such as Magnetic Drill, Hand Drill and Grinders
• Proper utilization of Band saw, Drill Press, Press brake, Shear
• General Knowledge of welding Practices and Procedures in GMAW, SMAW, FCAW
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Identify safety risks and hazards, and comply with relevant safety procedures and regulations

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Typical Physical/Typical work Conditions:

It is the responsibility of all employees to follow proper lifting techniques and seek help or utilize mechanical lifting aids as appropriate to avoid potential injury.

• Operate Fork trucks
• Extended periods of time standing.
• Must be able to bend and kneel freely.
• Good eyesight
