We are looking for an early career Field Transportation Inspector to join our team in Southeast Michigan. Join us and you'll learn from our highway technical experts as well as be a contributor to the development of new techniques and standards. Be part of the team assisting resident engineers and project managers in completion of inspection across a wide range of disciplines to include civil, utilities and pavements. You'll work in accordance with projects and client specifications. We ensure you'll have the chance to perform work with significant latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

  • Progressive field experience in construction administration/ inspection
  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices and principles
  • Intermediate mathematical skills in order to perform field calculations
  • Ability to gather and understand technical data for purposes of generating technical reports
  • Interpersonal skills to interract with clients and/or project teams
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites and MS Project
  • Ability to travel
  • A valid State's driver's license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check

Ideally, You'll Also Have:
  • Industry recognized inspection certification
  • Advanced education to include a technical school graduate or a Bachelor's degree related to Engineering or Construction Management, or similar
  • Valid certifications such as: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I, MDOT Asphalt Field Level 1, MDOT Soils and Aggregate Construction
  • Experience with applicable codes
