Purpose: As a Field Services Engineer, you will facilitate testing and maintenance of electrical systems within renewable energy, industrial and commercial installations. This position works mainly remote.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (Renewable, industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage (480V to 765kV) electrical systems.
• This Job has the possibility for remote work.
• Power transformer testing - Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
• Ability to collect transformer oil samples.
• Preferred if proficient in testing both electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Cable testing - Tan Delta, Partial Discharge, VLF, DC Hipot.
• Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
• Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls.
• Ability to follow NETA ATS/MTS specifications/guidelines.
• Ability to work on tight deadlines under pressure.
• Ability to train apprentices and other team members.
• Competency in Microsoft applications included Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system.
• Great communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Willing to be on call to address emergency outages with little notice; ability to deploy, travel to site and facilitate the service call.
• Willing to work on out-of-town projects.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Eagerness to advance to the next level and assist in the growth of the team.
• Good critical thinking skills and the capability to troubleshoot and make logical project-minded decisions.
• Knowledge of electrical, and/or photovoltaic (solar) construction.
• Must have at least 5 or more years of relevant experience performing switchgear testing & troubleshooting.
• Licensures and Certifications: NETA or NICET preferred.
• Must have good PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel.
• Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures
• Prefer OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training on each can be provided by KE
• Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time
• Must be capable of working in inclement conditions to include extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
