We are looking for Field Service Engineering Technicians to join our Houston and California offices.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Service Engineering Technician is primarily responsible for the installation, configuration and commissioning of Woodward Control systems and software for industrial steam, gas turbines and reciprocating engines. The ideal candidate should have:
- strong background in engines and engine management systems; automation and process controls and experience working with rotating equipment (turbines, compressors, and generators); or experience in the petrochemical and power generation industries (natural gas plants, LNG facilities and gas turbines such as Siemens, Baker Hughes, Mitsubishi, Dresser Rand).
- proficient in working with analog and digital controls as well as with PLCs (ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMIs, SCADA, DCS systems and instrumentation installation and calibration.
- strong experience with installation, troubleshooting, configuration, and commissioning of control systems
This is a full-time position and eligible for overtime pay. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Study drawings, schematics, manuals, software, and other pertinent information to determine the best solution and proper tools for system setup and/or problem resolution.
- Consult with customers and engineering staff to define the scope of work for projects.
- Use Woodward hardware and software to analyze malfunctions, configure systems and tune/adjust dynamics.
- Instruct customers in operating and servicing Woodward equipment and associated scope of supply.
- Consult with engineering to resolve problems to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Prepare service/warranty reports and other relevant job-related paperwork for customers and internal distribution, in a timely manner.
- Propose product improvement opportunities and customer feedback to engineering and management.
- Ensure that any open remaining open tasks are properly communicated or delegated to the appropriate parties, after returning from job site.
- Work with the Service department to define timeline, site specifics requirements and logistics.
- Installation, calibration, troubleshooting, configuration, and commissioning of Woodward control systems, including corrective and preventive maintenance of installed equipment, and product testing.
- Provide technical support to customer’s onsite and offsite.
- Assist engineering with technical work needed for projects, development of standards, procedures, manuals, and training programs performed in the department.
- Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations and safety practices to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
- Participate in project and lessons learned meetings with engineering, sales, and customers.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience in related field experience.
- Experience of familiar with Woodward control systems is preferable.
- Strong background in engines and engine management systems; automation and process controls and experience working with rotating equipment (turbines, compressors, and generators); or experience in the petrochemical and power generation industries (natural gas plants, LNG facilities and gas turbines such as Siemens, Baker Hughes, Mitsubishi, Dresser Rand)
- Proficient in working with analog and digital controls as well as with PLCs (ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMIs, SCADA, DCS systems and instrumentation installation and calibration.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Ability to communicate, written and oral with clients and other members of the staff, and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, Power Point.
- Must have a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have valid Driver License, TWIC, and Passport.

- Availability to work outside regular business hours for on call services, as needed (rotation with other engineering staff for call-out services is expected).
WORK HOURS
- Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm regular schedule when working at the office, however extended and irregular working hours when working in the field, including weekends and/or holidays when required.
TRAINING, EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS
- The company will provide all the necessary equipment and tools needed to perform the work, including personal protective equipment, and hands-on training,.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour
