Field Service Technician - Remote Work

This position requires a willingness to travel and learn. General construction knowledge a plus. You will assist a team that will handle all aspects of installing on-site equipment at remote locations around the Country.

As a Field Services Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the site installation and repair at new and existing client locations.

Primary Responsibilities - As instructed by Project Manager

* Create raceways and pull low voltage cable (Ethernet, fiber, telephone, etc.) throughout commercial buildings.
* Terminate and test cable drops.
* Install network racks, switches, and other network or telephone equipment according to installation plans.
* Install, terminate, and test analog telephone wiring blocks.
* Troubleshoot and correct network issues at the physical, data link, and network layers.
* Troubleshoot and correct problems with analog telephone wiring.
* Replace parts as needed to repair and service company-owned infrastructure and devices.
* Create and maintain documentation with a mission to improve organizational knowledge.
* Work with other staff, vendors, and service providers to ensure prompt resolution of all issues.

* Work with warehouse staff to prepare equipment for upcoming installations.
* Develop a strong knowledge of all technical infrastructure including local and remote networks.
* Extensive travel to remote client sites throughout the United States is required.

* Must have a positive, professional attitude.
* Ability to juggle multiple issues or projects at once.
* Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
* Must be able to read, write and clearly speak English.
* Must be able to pass a criminal background check for access to remote sites as needed.
* Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client sites as directed with minimal or no supervision.
* Must have a driver's license and clean driving record. This position will make use of company-owned vehicles as well as rental vehicles at remote locations.
* Basic working knowledge of IP networking (IP addressing, ping, trace route, etc.) is a huge plus.
