Service Technician Job Description
We are looking for a capable and personable Service Technician for our equipment operating in the US. The Service Technician’s responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair of technical issues on our vehicles, which may be mechanical, electric or software in nature. The Service Technician will work with the customers’ technicians and mechanics, as well as our engineers in Germany to identify and assist with any problems.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS MAY BE LOCATED ON THE EAST OR WEST COAST TO PROVIDE EFFICIENT SERVICE COVERAGE TO OUR CUSTOMERS.
To be a successful Service Technician, you should have excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. You should also have experience in automotive or heavy equipment technology and a familiarity with computers and willing to travel.
Service Technician Responsibilities:
Conduct customer visits to maintain, diagnose and repair our equipment
Initial set-up and commissioning of new equipment and training the customers’ operating personnel
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
Assist with troubleshooting and repairs both in person and over the phone.
Write up service reports for customer visits and document any vehicle-related issues encountered on service calls.
Service Technician Requirements:
Successfully completed vocational training as a diesel / heavy equipment mechanic or at least 3 years work experience with automotive mechanics, electronics or mechatronics.
Knowledge of automotive mechanics, as well as automotive electrical systems and hydraulics
Strong organizational, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
Good written and spoken English language skills, additional foreign language skills a plus
Confident handling of Microsoft Office Suites (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.) or similar applications
Familiarity with using computers for automotive troubleshooting is preferable
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
The ability to interact confidently and competently with both mechanics and management
High willingness to travel
