Field Service Technician, Level 1 - Swiss Panel Saws & CNC Grinding Machines

We are looking for a mechanical/electric oriented Field Service Technician, Level 1. Candidates should have training and/or experience working with basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems. Applicants must be able to read and interpret schematics and have an understanding of electronics and common Windows PC software. Deep expertise is not required, but a working knowledge is necessary to be successful.

This position is "Field Service"; applicants should expect 40-50% overnight travel throughout the U.S. with some opportunity for international travel. The company reimburses all reasonable business expenses, including: mileage, airfare, lodging, and meals per diem.

Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
• Troubleshooting of machines over the phone and remotely using Teamviewer/Zoom/What's app/Etc.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings and manuals to understand equipment functionality and specifications.
• Collaborate with customers to provide training and support on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Utilize basic math and logic skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
• Interface with customers in a professional manner, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of all service activities.
• Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends through ongoing training.
• Perform trade show demonstrations
• Parts sales, machine rebuilding and warehouse support when in-house.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field is a plus.
• Basic understanding and hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manuals.
• Familiarity with common Windows PC software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
• Basic math and logic skills, including light algebra and business math.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Field Service or technical support role.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to Field Service activities.
• Experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/electronic systems.
• Understanding of CNC motion control; such as stepper & servo motors, and PLC logic.
• Ability to travel domestically and abroad 50% of the time.
