Description
We are looking to hire an experienced Field Technician to look after the service and maintenance needs of our customers. As a Field Technician, you will be required to travel to client locations, install new equipment, respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues, and provide technical training on customer equipment as needed.
The successful Field Technician should have excellent troubleshooting skills, plenty of field experience, and the ability to adapt to a changing work schedule. Ultimately, a top-level field technician efficiently manages all service calls, providing high-quality service and repairs for any job size. A successful Field Technician candidate can adapt to a variety of work environments and quickly solve problems.
The Field Technician handles on-site servicing, diagnostics and repairs of a customer’s products or equipment. Field Technicians will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, configuration and maintenance of audio/visual systems network cabling, network hardware installation, network racks, digital signage, point of sale systems, wireless networks, and other technologies.

Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
- Install network cabling, network hardware installation, network racks, digital signage, point of sale systems, wireless networks, and other technologies as required.
- Assist with structural fabrication for mounting digital signage along with installation and service of a wide array of other equipment and hardware.
- Plan and deploy cabling as needed along or above ceiling structure or within wall spaces and termination to devices.
- Engineer custom solutions on the fly to meet unforeseen circumstances.
- Serve as primary technical resource/leader on job sites from product staging through post development support.
- Consults with Project Managers to collaboratively identify and execute solutions.

- Demonstrate excellent customer communication skills utilizing oral, written and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Qualifications:
Must Haves:
- Must have a current valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Previous construction-related experience helpful
- 3 years related experience with Audio Video Systems, enterprise infrastructure, or related field/trade
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor, appearance, hygiene and grooming is required
- Superior customer service skills, working with both internal and external customers.
- Effective communication and use of technology such as smart phone messaging, laptops, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful situations.
- Problem solving skills – the ability to engineer custom solutions on the fly
- Ability to plan, organize, delegate, and execute job scopes which allow the successful completion of a project.
- Consult with PMs collaboratively to identify and execute solutions while in the field.
- Ability to train other technicians and end-users
- Must be able to read and interpret architectural plans, schematics, design drawings, technical documents, etc.
- Ability to operate scissor/boom lifts, scaffolding, and tall ladders.
- Associate degree in some IT discipline or equivalent work experience
- Safety Conscious
- Must supply your own hand tools according to list provided
Working conditions
- Must be comfortable with a highly variable schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, & holidays.
- Employee must be flexible on this as well as travel requirements dictated by scope of work, construction schedules, and work site locations. Must be able to work at jobsites that will be noisy, dirty, dusty.
- Must be able to work in ceiling spaces, or in locations that are not air-conditioned or exposed to the elements.
Physical requirements
Employee must be able to sit, kneel, or stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, and perform repetitive tasks with few breaks. Employee may also spend extended periods of time driving to and from job sites.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in some IT discipline or equivalent
- Scissor/Boom Lift certificate or significant operator experience
- Working knowledge and/or experience with a variety of manufacturer’s products and protocols such as Crestron, Planar, etc.
- Competency with IP and computer networking and operating systems.
- N+ or equivalent work experience
- Certified Technology Specialist or equivalent professional experience

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
