**Within the role of an FSE, daily travel to and from multiple customers sites is required. Sophisticated troubleshooting and repairing systems containing but not limited to, Lasers/optical pathways, fluidic systems, pneumatic systems, electronic systems, and PC’s to resolve issues while onsite is required.** This position will support New England with a concentration surrounding Connecticut and Greater Boston. Experience with tools and test equipment such as digital volt meters and oscilloscopes desirable. Assets: Flow Cytometry experience is a plus. Experience fixing medical device instruments
- Technical military training
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or other related technical or biological subject area. Prior Field Service Engineer experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and service instrumentation with minimum direct supervision, as requested, by the Service Center in accordance with current ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
- Provide follow-up service by calling customers who have recently been provided service.
- Ensure service was complete and satisfactory to the customers' needs.
- Properly maintain stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical data.
- Maintain expense levels within the established guidelines for Field Service travel and sites visits.
- Report quality control and other technical problems, in detail, to the Service Center and System Support Engineering Manager.
- Properly maintain and use company vehicle as outlined by current Corporate fleet policy.
- Accountable for providing support to customers that meet standards of superior quality service.
- Accountable for Company issued credit cards, travel advances, company vehicle, trunk stock of spare, and repair parts.
- As a representative, promote and maintain good customer relations through high standards of personal appearance, ethical behavior, maturity and good judgment.
- This position will support New England with a concentration surrounding Connecticut and Greater Boston
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Consistent track record of success in military career
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School diploma
- At least 3 years’ experience troubleshooting instruments or components
- A valid Driver's License. Ability to travel 50% or more
Assets:
- Flow Cytometry experience is a plus
- Technical military training
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or other related technical or biological subject area
- Prior Field Service Engineer experience
- Individuals with previous experience fixing medical device instruments
- Previous customer interfacing role
- Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Word and Excel
- Familiarity with recent Mac and PC operating systems
- Experience with tools and test equipment such as digital volt meters and oscilloscopes desirable
