Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Field Operator located in Greeley, CO, United States, through March 24th, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
The Field Operator position operates and monitors company plants and facilities, typically Upstream facilities after primary separation and processing (such as gas and co-gen plants) and Downstream & Chemical refineries and plants.
Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance. Performs routine tasks independently. General supervision of non-routine work.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Operate specific pipeline systems and/or facilities (i.e. monitoring pressures, temperatures and flow rates, and making appropriate operational changes).
Responsible for developing and implementing Lock Out Tag Outs and following the Permitting and Managing Safe Work processes.
Evaluate alarm conditions as they occur and determine the proper course of action to correct the alarm
condition.
Responsible for performing Operator Routine Duties.
Gauge and sample tanks.
Assisting in a variety, mechanical, technical, and electrical tasks as required.
Monitor and coordinate commodity movements, commodity interfaces, gauging times and the launching and receiving of pigs and scrapers with system controllers and customer contacts at receipt and delivery points.
Make valve line-up and manifold changes.
Monitor sample pots, adjust sample rates, draw samples and perform laboratory tests on samples. Perform stock transfers between tanks, change orifice plates and blinds.
Calculate line-fills, displacements and other volumes.
Investigate and resolve over/short situations and balance system inventories.
Maintain meter factor trend data and perform and/or coordinate measurement equipment calibrations.
Respond to inquiries regarding leaks, line locations and encroachments and take appropriate action to rectify.
Support projects as area controller and permit approver.
Respond appropriately to emergency situations and assist other team members in conducting hypothetical drills.
Inspect fire and other safety equipment and systems to ensure that they are maintained and operational.
Perform basic safety duties such as fire-watch and safety monitor.
Learn and use basic SAP-PM functions including accessing and reviewing their work and creating notifications.
Visually inspect the condition of equipment and pipelines to ensure that equipment is running within design limits and is properly maintained.
Required Qualifications:
Prior to performing any DOT covered tasks, must meet DOT requirements for operator qualification.
Valid Driver's License Required- No DWI/DUI 3 years. No more than 1 moving violation in past 2 years. DMV records will be checked.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must have a minimum of 2 years’ pipeline or industry related experience.

- The anticipated hourly salary rate range for this position is $40.14 to $45.83 USD.

Assessment
