Position Summary
Safely and efficiently supports KRDNA Department activities in the United States including the Upkeep of turf test fields, Fabrication of parts, Machine maintenance, Machine assembly/disassembly, transport of machines between sites, and periodic support of the test team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely perform the maintenance as needed for the turf test fields with mowing, irrigation, fertilizer, weed control and over seeding.
- Preparing field conditions for scheduled tests.
- Under guidance assists Engineers as needed with assembly, disassembly and inspection of test machines.
- Can read and understand engineering prints as it relates to performing the job
- Safely and Efficiently perform minor fabrication of parts as required including cutting, drilling, welding, forming and machining processes.
- Must obtain (within 60 days) and maintain a valid DOT license and Kubota Driver’s List status.
- Continue to maintain a 5s area according to Compliance Standards
- Understands and complies in support of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma and/or GED.
- English language competency including demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little to no oversight.
- Knowledge and experience maintaining different turf grass varieties.
- Experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems.
- Experience maintaining and operating mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
- Eligible to drive Truck and Trailer (KMA Driver’s List plus must maintain a valid DOT
License)
- Able to perform basic fabrication (cutting, grinding, drilling, etc.)
- Ability to use basic hand tools (Torque wrench, Mechanical Tools, etc)
- Willing to travel as necessary.
- Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Landscaping, Golf course, or Turf farm maintenance experience.
- Able to perform moderate to advanced fabrication (Welding, Forming, Machining, etc.)
- Advanced understanding of engineering prints (tolerances, welding annotation, etc.)
