SAIC has an opening for a Field Engineer Senior in Bremerton, WA. SAIC is the prime contractor for the production restart of the MK48 MOD 7 HWT AB/TC and WSFT, seeking support to NUWC Division KPT in Keyport, Washington.
Provide support to the Undersea Warfare and Support account on MK48 Torpedo Test Equipment and production related efforts.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Work is reviewed by management to measure whether objectives have been met.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
- The candidate must be proficient in the knowledge of HWT and LWT torpedo test equipment and must be able to support failure analysis at NUWC Division KPT.
- Design, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical and electromechanical components/systems.
- Ability to understand/follow rigid requirements within a DOD organization.
- Understands the discipline & focus to complete complex engineering designs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time to meet commitments and expectations.
- Ability to remain organized and adapt to unexpected events, new facts, and rapidly changing circumstances.
- Ability to be flexible and focused.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and team cooperation.
- Task and customer oriented.
- Demonstrated evidence of initiative and self-starting.
DESIRED:
- 20+ years of experience at NUWC Division KPT.
CLEARANCE:
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
