We are seeking a Field Electrician/Commercial to join our Customer's team in Colombia, Maryland. Our client is a fast growing company which supplies industrial equipment to the E-Commerce market. Candidates must have technical skills and will be expected to contribute right after we hire you. We have full-time and part-time positions available in our Columbia, Maryland office.
For the more adventurous candidates we have positions which allow you to travel. There is plenty of potential to earn overtime pay. A competitive benefit package is available for full time employees.
Position Description/Requirements:
As a Field Electrician you will lead installations of electro-mechanical equipment in customers' plants throughout North America. S/he will also do startup support and field service. To be a candidate, you must be able to climb ladders and lift 40 lb boxes. On occasion our Electrician jobs require our team to work 10 hours per day six days per week during project installations several times a year. Additionally, candidates need to be willing to be away from home for stretches of time.
The nature of our business is such that you must pass a background check and drug test. Applicants/candidates should be based within 60 miles of Columbia, MD.
Responsibilities:
Electrical installation of low voltage, network, and high voltage wiring on conveyor systems
- Mechanical installation of electrical devices and brackets
- Ensure wiring complies with electrical codes and schematics
- Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits and panels
- Provide startup support and training to customers
- Provide field service as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Management of subcontractors
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership when managing outside contractors
- Strong communications and customer service skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5-10 years of industry experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
