Ferry Boat Captain

We are looking for a seasonal Ferry Boat Captain on the Freedom Ferry to navigate the waters of Nantucket Sound. We run multiple trips a day from Harwich Port to Nantucket.
Our service operates from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. Vessel is a 65 foot triple screw Gulfcraft with a COI of 125 passengers. Must have 100 ton Master near coastal, experience operating a similar size vessel, radar, and ability to lead a crew of 2 deckhands. Hours are flexible, either full or part time. This is a really fun and exciting summer job.

```Duties:```
- Ensuring the safety of passengers and crew
- Navigate waterways, following designated routes and adhering to maritime laws and regulations
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the boat, including checking engine performance, and safety equipment
- Manage a crew of 2 deckhands while aboard
- Communicate with passengers, providing information about the boat, safety procedures, and local points of interest
- Respond to emergencies or distress calls, taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of all onboard
- Ensure a safe and fun trip for our passengers while maintaining a professional environment.

```Requirements:```
- Valid 100 ton Master near coastal license, CG Medical certificate and TWIC
- Proven experience as a Boat Captain or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of maritime laws, regulations, and safety procedures
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on the boat
- Excellent communication skills to interact with passengers and crew members effectively
- Ability to manage and lead a team in emergency situations
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of operating a boat for extended periods

Hourly wage plus tips. We are a drug free workplace with random testing as required by the Coast Guard.

Housing or relocation is not provided so we are looking for someone local to Cape Cod or Southeastern Massachusetts.
