Fermentation Technician

Description:

• Responsible for operating the pilot and plant spray dryers in the production of dried spore-forming bacteria.
• Responsible for operating pilot and plant spray dryers, and all supporting equipment which include pumps, valves, cleaning systems, and automation controls in the production of spray-dried powder
• Perform analytical testing to ensure the slurry and finished product meet customer specifications (moisture, pH, water activity, density, particle size distribution etc.)
• Submit samples of slurry and finished products to quality control or lab for analysis
• Maintain accurate written records or logs of raw materials, finished products, and all production processes
• Understand and follow production schedules working closely with the fermentation manager
• Troubleshoot equipment/process-related issues on the spray dryers and associated equipment
• Responsible for achieving units and fermentation team goals
• Follows SOPs (standard operating procedures) and work instructions for all tasks to ensure safe, quality products are manufactured
• Operate process and utility equipment in a hygienic and safe manner in accordance with all processing procedures, cGMP, HAACP, FSMA and OSHA instructions and guidelines
• Assist in maintaining all process areas within the manufacturing environment to comply with current regulatory guidelines and procedures

Skills:

Fermentation, GMP, HACCP, spray dryer

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

HS Diploma

1-2 years experience in manufacturing within a GMP environment

Experience with HACCP is a plus
