FELLOWSHIP COORDINATOR POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Fellowship Coordinator (Part-time Hourly) will open/close church building and set up, greet, serve, and clean up the Fellowship Hall and kitchen on Sundays (9AM-Noon - 3hr shift) & for special events as scheduled with a smile.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Reports to: The Pastor
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Opens up church at 9 am on Sunday mornings; may sweep or shovel walkways to clear yard debris/snow and vacuum inside entrances (front & canopy) for access and safety.
- Verifies and restocks bathrooms as needed.
- Ensures Fellowship Hall is presentable and that each table has adequate supplies for guests; maintains list of needed kitchen supplies for Women’s Fellowship to purchase.
- If Sunday Service is outside, will help set up tables, chairs and equipment for outside.
- Ensures Fellowship Hall temperature is comfortable for guests. (Adjust heating or open doors & turn on fans to cool room.)
- Makes coffee & tea; sets refreshments, including water, for Fellowship Coffee Hour.
- Reviews Fellowship Coffee Hour Volunteers list and greets volunteers & other church members as they arrive in the kitchen area.
- Selects manner to serve treats brought in by volunteers and arranges necessary dishes on serving tables; serves as needed depending upon volunteers’ abilities/interests.
- Collects all dirty dishes, runs through the dishwasher, and returns clean dishes to cabinets.
- Cleans and sani5zes kitchen and Fellowship Hall. Restocks as necessary.
- Securely locks all doors upon completion of duties and existing building.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Pastor.
Required Skills/AbiliAes:
- Must be a “people person” who likes working with others as well as independently to provide an excellent member/visitor experience.
- Detail-oriented and thorough; excellent organizational skills.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willing to learn safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions and equipment.
- Ability to keep the Fellowship Hall and kitchen clean and orderly.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a team.
- Ability to build rela5onships with church members and staff.
EducaAon and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some experience in a service or food industry is desired, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
