This role is restricted to U.S. citizens only who maintain a security clearance.

FTT has an immediate need for a Fellow Heat Transfer Engineer expert to support the overall responsibility to perform cooling designs, secondary flow analysis, and finite element analysis for commercial and military turbine engine programs. This position provides opportunities for diverse technical challenging's to work on a unique set of programs in a team environment. Organization's engineering practices, participating in design and analysis reviews, assuring accuracy and cost effectiveness, developing criteria and employee training documents.

Education and Experience:

BS/MS/PHD in Engineering plus 15 or more years' experience. Industry recognized expert in field of practice.

  • 15+ years applied industry thermal design experience in turbine components, combustion hardware and secondary air systems
  • BS required, M.S.M.E Preferred. Proficiency in fundamental analyses “hand-calculations” and a good understanding of practical design limitations.
  • Specializing in computational simulation of Heat Transfer, fluid dynamic behavior and correlation with experimental testing.
  • Experience in cutting-edge technologies (Conjugate CFD codes, additive manufacturing, CMC) and proficiency in MSC Easy5 and ANSYS FEA is desired.
  • Skilled at characterizing risk to produce balanced design solutions
  • Experienced in all phases of development: conceptual design, analysis, manufacturing, validation, and field service
  • Awareness of turbomachinery cycle performance drivers and trade factors
  • Technical leadership abilities capable of functioning as key Heat Transfer specialist and technical focal point
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: experience integrating work in a team, interfacing with customer, mentorship
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Engineer is an industry recognized technical expert in his or her field of practice and actively participates in the engineering departments' technical development.
