Country View Family Farms seeks to hire an experienced Feed Mill Manager to establish and operate a state of the art Feed Mill located in south Indiana. The Mill Manager will be responsible for the following duties; overseeing grain, ingredient unloading/ storage, feed production management, quality control, operational costs, coordinating feed production with the delivery company, and the overall safety of the Feed Mill. The Feed Mill will produce over 7,000 tons/ per week of bulk pelleted animal feed. The manager will be supervising approximately 14 full times team members while producing feed over three shifts, five to six days per week. This role is located in the Hagerstown, Indiana area. Essential duties:
Operational Oversight:
- Responsible for the operational oversight of all milling operations to meet the targeted key metrics for all aspects of the Feed Mill and grain storage. Handling ownership of Mill P&L, all associated inputs and outputs. Responsible for Feed Milling budget planning, repairs, and capital projects.
- Responsible for executing SOPs for all mill activities, the daily mill labor planning & utilization to meet required production targets over 3 shifts.
- Understand Mill Control System ( BETA RAVEN ) and ensuring the overall quality of ingredients from receipt through storage, including bin rotation/clean out.
- Responsible collaborating with Feed Delivery team for effective production planning & load-out of finished feeds. Collaborate with supporting departments i.e. procurement, nutrition and production customers.
Quality Assurance:
- Responsible for the implementation and ensure compliance with disease prevention and product Quality Assurance Programs alongside of non-compliances to production and veterinarian staff.
- Familiarity with HACCP Principles and responsible for compliance to federal VFD regulations, medicated feed licensing regulations and Food Safety and Modernization Act Compliance – FSMA
- Collaborates with the procurement department on any ingredient quality concerns and collaborate with nutrition department on feed and feed ingredient sampling programs.
Talent Management:
- Responsible to assure that all mill team members are properly trained in all applicable company programs while assuring the mill is fully staffed with top talent.
- Conducting coaching sessions with direct reports to assess current and future talent expectations. Manage the growth of the team members by creating and establishing annual Individual Development Plans (IDP’s) and annual performance reviews for each TM.
Environment:
- Responsible to comply with all environmental policies and procedures in collaboration with Environmental Compliance Department
Safety:
- Responsible for execution of Feed Mill safety program to assure the facility meets all federal, state, and local regulations. Ensuring that safety is at the forefront of all milling operations each day while aligning with company safety programs.
Strategy & Planning:
- Participate in monthly financial reviews, and long range planning, budgeting, and establishing KPIs focused on continuous improvement.
Team CFG:
- Lead by example the Clemens Way Fundamentals implementation at the mill while supporting the Clemens Food Group key mission, vision and key expectations.
