Federation Hockey Head Coach
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute is excited to announce a unique opportunity for a Federation Hockey
Head Coach. This position offers the chance to operate a program for student-athletes, encompassing
recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and training young men in the sport of hockey. The successful candidate
will also play a crucial role in maintaining discipline, respect, and high standards of behavior.
Primary Responsibilities and Expectations:
The Federation Hockey Head Coach is responsible for the overall development and management of the St.
Joe's hockey program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Coordinate, develop, and promote all hockey teams (MOD, JVM, JVW, VARM, VARW, FED)
● Coach and mentor student-athletes while positively promoting the mission of St. Joe's and the athletic
department
● Hire, supervise, and mentor coaching staff (MOD, JVM, JVW, VARM, VARW, FED)
● Organize, in conjunction with the director of athletics, all aspects of the program, including budget,
facility, game, practice, and operational duties
● Coordinate travel & logistics for all practices and games
● Work with the admissions office to identify quality student-athletes and participate in admissions
functions
● Attend all MMHSAA / Section 6 meetings and required events
● Implement, monitor, and enforce all institution, league, and NYS rules associated with your sport
● Other duties as assigned
As a Federation Hockey Head Coach at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, we expect the candidate to
demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence both on and off the ice. This includes possessing effective
communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working closely with a
diverse array of student-athletes and colleagues.
The Federation Hockey Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is a member of the Athletic
Department. This is a part-time, seasonal position. The salary, based on experience, ranges from $6,000-
$8,000.
