FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM - Game Development
This job is a Federal Work Study,non-benefited position in the Computer Sciences Division.
Salary: $13.50 per hour
Hours: up to 20 hours per week; Flexible, depending upon applicant's availability.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work Study eligible Gwinnett Technical College student for current quarter.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following technical competencies are preferred:
Ability to use computer programs; Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload; Ability to communicate, meet deadlines, exhibit proper judgment in selecting which questions to handle or re-direct. Prefer a 2nd quarter computer science major.
Job Description Summary:
Under close supervision, assist with Gaming Computer labs in Computer Sciences Division. Job will include on the job training.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
1. Assists in organizing and executing routine clerical, pc lab and office related activities and special projects; other duties as assigned.
2. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. (Performed by all incumbents)
2.1 Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work.
2.2 Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; does things before being asked or forced to by events.
2.3 Works within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures.
2.4 Accepts direction and feedback from supervisors and follows through appropriately.
2.5 Works when scheduled; begins and ends work as expected; calls in according to policy when arriving late for work or when absent; observes provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act; observes policies on break and lunch periods; uses work time appropriately.
2.6 Explore the Esports landscape and present best practice learnings and suggestions for our Esports initiatives
2.7 Exploring Game Development Initiatives and Technologies pertaining to the program.
