Federal Work Study Student Worker: Student Worker, MET Manufacturing Lab
We are looking for a motivated student help support our existing labs as well as assist us as we upgrade and expand our MET manufacturing and 3D printing labs. This work study will assist faculty in preparation for lab classes, organize and assist with upgrading and maintaining our lab equipment, and help operate our new 3D printing lab. You must be currently enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program and have successfully completed the Introduction to MET, Manufacturing Processes 1, and MET CAD 1 classes with minimum grades of “B”. If you are interested in manufacturing, fabrication, and 3D printing this will be a great opportunity to apply what you are learning in the classroom and build your resume. This person is expected to work 10-20 hours per week and the hours are flexible between 8 AM – 5 PM.
Essential Duties:
- Assist faculty members with laboratory preparation
- Assist faculty with organizing and renovating the MET Manufacturing Labs
- Assist faculty with the creation and operation of a new additive manufacturing (3D printing) lab
- Work on small projects requiring design, fabrication, and machining skills
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have completed FAFSA for the current school year
- Must meet and continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Must demonstrate financial need
Hours: Maximum of 20 hours per week
Hourly Pay: $14.00 per hour
