We are hiring for a Project Manager to join our team and contribute to multi-discipline design engineering projects on a full-time, direct basis. This person will have the opportunity to lead a variety of projects as part of our Federal Programs team while collaborating with colleagues across multiple offices!
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers technical staff.
  • Lead and manage complex engineering tasks Federal Government projects.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously; this includes monitoring schedules budgets to ensure effective completion of projects accordingly.
  • Develop project schedules and cost budgets; this includes analyzing financial data to set relevant targets.
  • Work closely with Project Accounting Staff to monitor and control project cost billings to meet budget profit, analyze project performance data weekly, and develop recovery plans (as needed).
  • Develop corrective action plans, as needed.
  • Meet regularly with clients.
  • Prepare proposals for new existing clients (including estimation of project fees).
  • Actively support corporate mission, goals, strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across Pennoni.
  • Demonstrate mastery of fundamental project management skills and utilize advanced PM techniques / best practices to increase productivity, efficiency, and accuracy while achieving short-term long-term gains.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline).
  • 8+ years of professional experience working in Engineering (preferably with Federal design projects).

This person will be expected to travel as part of this role, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License.
Given the nature of the programs involved, US Citizenship is required for this specific position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management certification (e.g.: PMP) and/or P.E. license are helpful!
  • Proven expertise with Management and/or Project Management.
  • Experience overseeing A/E/C projects in the Federal market; experience working on Infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
  • Proven record of providing excellent customer service (for internal and external clients).
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and software, especially Microsoft Office 365 applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with project management and/or CRM tools (especially Deltek Vantagepoint) is a plus!
  • Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment while demonstrating strong character and dependability; a track record of collaborating with internal team members at all levels and leading by example is strongly preferred!
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a "can-do" self-motivated demeanor while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments in order to achieve annual revenue goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent business aptitude analytical skills as well as a forward-looking approach to manage strategic and tactical initiatives in an effective manner.
  • Excellent attention-to-detail; this person is expected to be thorough with their efforts!
  • Excellent communication skills (written verbal); this person is expected to represent our company in a professional manner (e.g.: professional appearance, clear communication, etc.) and make presentations on our behalf.
