215-DAY EMPLOYMENT TERM
Conducts demonstration lessons using research based instructional strategies in core subject areas;
Assists teachers in designing and delivering effective instruction that includes differentiated instruction, problem-based learning, higher order thinking, and maximized student engagement;
Collaborates with grade level teams and building administrators to set goals and to review student assessment data to assess progress toward goals;
Provides on-site professional development to build a strong mathematical background for teachers as well as to assist teachers in embracing sound mathematical practices;
Assists teachers with implementing balanced READING/LANGUAGE ARTS and math programs that include computational fluency, reading and writing for meaning, problem solving and real-world connections and school improvement initiatives;
Assists teachers in appropriate use of technology and technology-based resources to promote an integrated curriculum;
Meets regularly with building administrators to assess progress of school improvement initiatives;
Assists school teams in building capacity for a sustainable, focused, collaborative culture that promotes increased student learning;
Meets as required with Central Office Federal Programs and other Central Office Administration Staff to coordinate the instructional efforts of the system and plan appropriate professional development activities
Raleigh County Teacher salary schedule plus $125 monthly supplement.

In-depth knowledge of current research-based strategies in READING/LANGUAGE ARTS, writing and math;
Extensive knowledge of school improvement initiatives;
Demonstrates ability to analyze assessment data (formative, summative, benchmark, and short cycle assessments, to guide instruction;
Extensive experience in modeling lessons, co-teaching designs and giving presentations;
Extensive experience in establishing cooperative teaching settings;
Extensive experience in effective integration of technology and the use of web-based resources;
Extensive experience in designing and implementing teaching activities that enhance student learning in reading, writing and math.
