Title:FCT Outreach and Testing Coordinator
Reports to: Prevention Programs Manager
Position Overview:
The FCT Outreach and Testing Coordinator will provide HIV and STD prevention services and education, including HIV Testing, PrEP, and linkage to treatment, among LGBTQ+ individuals at various locations throughout Dallas County and surrounding.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating FCT and HIV/syphilis/STD testing activities
- Recruit at-risk, young adult MSM for FCT and screen testing
- Perform initial and follow-up sessions per FCT guidelines for persons testing for HIV
- Maintain a positive rapport with community businesses, organizations, and agencies
- Assist in implementing community assessment for FCT
- Follow all procedures and policies, including safety regulations and guidelines
- Perform HIV/syphilis/STD tests via venipuncture or other methods per set guidelines.
- Work with Dallas County Health and Human Services on information regarding partner notification, contact tracing and partner elicitation, as requested
- Maintain FCT HIV/STD/syphilis testing client files
- Coordinate outreach, including recruiting and utilizing volunteers, at venues where MSM congregate (e.g., bars, parks, bathhouses) to conduct HIV/syphilis testing and/or refer individuals to testing and HIV linkage to medical care and STD treatment services
- Ensure program goals/objectives are met and timely report program process objectives
- Attend department and agency meetings and local and statewide conferences.
- Participate in Condom Distribution campaign and Promote PrEP
- Monitor medical supply, orders, and maintenance, including biohazard waste disposal
- Perform duties in conjunction with the Transhealth Initiative, as needed
- Perform duties in accordance with OSHA safety, clinic protocols, and HIPAA compliance
- Participate in the Enhanced Condom Education and Outreach initiative
- Participates in the program’s Client Services Navigation System to establish linkage to HIV-related medical care for people who are infected with HIV
- Perform administrative and other duties
- Drive personal car or Sexy Health Mobile Unit to businesses and events while adhering to safety and quality standards
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college is preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Ability to handle a moderate to heavy workload and lift 25-50lbs
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work flexible hours (some late nights and weekends required)
- Must have access to reliable transportation (Mileage reimbursed)
- Proficient experience with Microsoft computer applications is required
- Qualification and experience in Foundations of Testing and Navigation (FCT) or Protocol-Based Counseling (PBC) is preferred but will train the right candidate.
