Overview:
The Food & Beverage/Dining Room Manager at the Harvard Club of NYC is responsible for enhancing operations, ensuring consistent service standards, and improving staffing and training in all Restaurants/Bars. They provide comprehensive supervision, drive day-to-day procedures, and foster subtle cultural changes to boost staff morale. The F&B Manager acts as a mentor, elevating the team's skills, and promoting positive labor relations with Union employees (Local 6).
Responsibilities:
- Train, supervise, and mentor Food and Beverage employees. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate essential information to staff and schedule and direct their work assignments.
- Engage with members positively, promoting Club facilities and services. Maintain effective communication with all departments to ensure service needs are met. Monitor the facility to ensure all quality service standards are consistently upheld.
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Director, F&B Director, and fellow F&B Managers to generate and implement new ideas and dining concepts, promoting further growth within F&B outlets.
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage Management Team to enhance and maintain basic service standards, ensuring consistency based on member, senior management, and secret shopper feedback.
- Collaborate with bar staff across F&B outlets to maintain high-quality, consistent drinks, and implement cocktail and beverage programs. Provide training to uphold bar service standards, maintain inventory, and promote custom and specialty cocktails to members.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a Restaurant/F&B Manager in a high-volume F&B operation of a high-end hotel, resort, or private club.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and POS Rev'd (as of 3/2023).
- Must attend all club-required meetings and training sessions.
- Regular attendance, adhering to the club's established standards, is crucial for successful performance in this position.
- Must possess strong multitasking and prioritization skills to meet departmental deadlines.
- Approach all interactions with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times, remaining composed during busy and stressful periods.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
