Food & Beverage COOK 2023
Purpose of Position:
The FOOD & BEVERAGE COOK is responsible for cooking meals by reviewing recipes, assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients and maintaining a sanitary kitchen area.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Weighing, measuring, mixing, and prepping ingredients according to recipes.
- Completes hot meal preparation by steaming, grilling, broiling, baking, or frying, meats, chicken, vegetables, and other ingredients.
- Working environment is indoors / outdoors as needed.
- Working environments will be subject to varying degrees of summer heat during park schedule May to September.
- Checking food and ingredients for freshness.
- Attends to the detail and presentation of each order.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature logs as required.
- Follows appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation on all food items.
- Stores leftovers according to established standards.
- Works well under pressure and within time limits.
- Able to handle work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
- Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed.
- Ensures smooth operations of kitchen services during absence of supervisor or lead.
- Assists with food & dry goods deliveries and completes restocking of stations, as needed.
- Serve food, beverages, or desserts to customers in a very fast-paced environment.
Education / Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Adaptability
- Oral communication
- Decisions-making
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
- High energy level, ability to multi-task
- Current California Food Handling card
- Approved non-slip shoes required.
