Role Highlights:

  • Hands On & Managerial: the role is hands on in the kitchen and managerial: you will be working alongside the team to prep food, make orders, maintain and clean the kitchen, as well as manage the kitchen team and the kitchen operations
  • Back of House Focused: our kitchens operate with a primary focus on preparing delivery and catering orders, so you'll be focused on back of house operations: food prep, order assembly, and kitchen maintenance
  • Growth Potential: we’re hiring for managers who can work 40-50 hours a week, with potential to grow into higher leadership positions as you demonstrate your performance
  • Training & Responsibilities: you’ll be trained for 1-2 months on all functions in the restaurant to operate with a small team. You will be responsible for all aspects of running the kitchen with world-class excellence: assembling meals, preparing food, cleaning, operating all equipment, opening and closing the restaurant, ordering food, taking inventory, managing catering orders, and staff hiring, scheduling, mentoring, and training

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Manage & participate in meal prep, order assembly, and cleaning with speed, consistency, and accuracy
  • Ensure you and the team are properly preparing and assembling food to company standards
  • Maintain food safety, knife safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
  • Regularly check inventory & order food with partner vendors to maintain proper stock levels
  • Schedule, train, evaluate, mentor, and share feedback with team members to maintain a culture of both excellence and positive teamwork within the restaurant
  • Hire, manage, and terminate employees in the kitchen
  • Prepare, manage, and coordinate catering orders throughout the week
  • Maintain regular lines of communication between the team and regional management
  • Regularly check online reviews to ensure the restaurant is operating at a high level
  • Troubleshoot issues in the kitchen to maintain continuous operations
  • Be an expert on company recipes, quality standards, and values to ensure the restaurant operates with excellence

Required qualifications:

  • Must have 5+ years of restaurant experience, ideally in high volume restaurants
  • Must have in-kitchen back of house experience
  • Experience hiring, managing, and terminating employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Have a ServSafe Food Manager Certificate or equivalent
  • Able to physically move in tight spaces quickly and efficiently
  • Able to stand on your feet for 8+ hours
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Must be comfortable working in a startup environment with ongoing process improvements, recipe changes, and flexible schedules

  • Spanish proficiency

Training for this position will take place at one of our kitchens in California. We will pay for your travel, training, and lodging (we will have more details in the first round of interviews). Training typically takes 1 month to complete. After training is complete, you will be back in New York to manage the the Times Square location.
