Farm Worker

Employment Requirements:

· 90 day paid probation period before contracted employment

· Monday-Friday workweek of 40-50 hours (seasonal variance with spring and fall farming tasks)

· Estimated at 16 Saturdays worked (spring and fall and various other all planned with employee)

· Sundays off

· Two weeks Paid vacation

· Company vehicle with paid fuel

· On-farm housing possible

Skills Required:

· Previous farm employment required

· Ability to drive a manual transmission (tractor, semi-truck, etc..)

· Ability to operate a skidster, excavator, bulldozer

· Ability to work physical labor (standing, walking, climbing on even and uneven surfaces)

· Ability to write

· Ability to communicate in English fluently

· Ability to work independently

· Willing to perform dirty work and repetitive work

· Knowledge of animal care and handling techniques

· Ability to use power tools safely and effectively

· Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs on farm equipment

· Basic math skills for measurements and inventory management

Skills Preferred:

· Ability to weld

· Electrical knowledge

Job Description:

Position includes day to day farm labor. This position is a skilled laborer position requiring the employee to be familiar with and have experience in planting and harvesting a crop and working with livestock. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to

· Driving tractors with implements to perform tasks such as planting, tilling, harvesting crops such as corn, soybeans, and hay.

· Driving land management equipment such as excavators and bulldozers to be used to clear land or prepare land for farming use.

· Drive a manual semi-truck and trailer to haul grain or livestock to market.

· General repairs and maintenance around a farming operation

· Fencing for livestock

· Managing the care and wellbeing of cattle including feeding, vaccination, weaning, sorting, etc of the cattle herd.

· Overseeing the day-to-day operations of a poultry operation including daily oversight of laborers and general repairs and maintenance on the facility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
