Farm Irrigation Specialist

Black Gold Farms has an opportunity available for a Farm Irrigation Specialist at our Camden, NC location. This position is a critical part of the farm operation.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate irrigation schedules for the crop with the Farm Manager and Agronomist.

• Troubleshoot any problems that may arise with irrigation systems.

• Assist with installation and monitoring of soil moisture probes.

• Participate in all aspects of planting, cultivating, irrigating, harvesting, storing, and shipping the crop.

• Assist Agronomist with scouting and assist with record keeping of all field and crop data.

• Conduct off-season machinery repairs and preventative maintenance.

• Ensure the location maintains the ‘tour ready’ standard by implementing and maintaining the facility grounds, equipment, and other resources.

• Assist manager and agronomist with all USDA, DOT, OSHA, GAP, and pesticide reporting by working with the proper agency to make sure Black Gold Farms is always in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

• Any other tasks or duties assigned by the Farm Manager or Agronomist

Requirements:

• High school diploma

• Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems

• Experience operation agriculture related equipment

• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures

• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record

• Basic Mechanical skills

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Pay Rate: $15-23/hour, dependent on experience
