JOB SUMMARY

Job Title: Farm Assistant

Reports to: Farm Manager

Location: Shelton, WA

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for caring for plants through all stages of their lives in a greenhouse environment. Must be punctual, self-motivated, and work well on a team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Tasks

• Care for plants in all stages, from cloning to harvest
• Spray plants with variety of 502 approved nutrients and pesticides
• Perform general plant care and watering
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the greenhouse and all other job duties as assigned
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to improve and promote quality, as well as traceability
• Assist in preparing plants from harvest to packaging stage
• Ability to work well with other team members, and display a positive and can-do attitude
• Flexibility and openness to other tasks as assigned.
• A general understanding of irrigation systems and how they are constructed
• A general understanding of fence construction and maintenance
• An understanding of power tool use and operation

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Need to be able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly, with the ability to lift up to 120 pounds shoulder height
• Ability to complete a variety of tasks while kneeling or stooping
• Ability to work on feet 8+ hours per day

COMPENSATION DISCLOSURES

· Pay Range: $15.74-$16.50, dependent upon qualifications.

· PTO/Sick Leave: Earn 80 hours of sick and PTO combined. One hour of sick leave will accrue for every 40 hours worked, and remaining hours will fall into a PTO bank.
