Responsibilities
- The Adolescent and Family Therapist provides direct care for patients and their families under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services
- Provide clinical care and case management in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Hospital for Behavioral Medicine and other regulatory agencies
- Conduct psychosocial assessments, participate in treatment planning, utilization review, and discharge planning
- Conduct group and family therapy
- Conduct risk assessments and crisis management
- Manage cases for primarily the adolescent population with an expectation of some coverage in the adult programs utilizing Family Based Treatment (FBT) methods
- Collaborate with referral sources and outpatient providers
- Work to ensure that all required documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner, while complying with all regulatory standards
- Work collaboratively with the treatment team throughout the Hospital for Behavioral Medicine’s continuum of care
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing direct clinical care in a mental health setting and a minimum of 1 years' experience working with families in a mental health setting.
License: Massachusetts State license in Marriage and Family Therapy preferred. (LMFT).
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
