    Job Description

    The Housing Matcher serves as a team member with several social service professional and paraprofessional staff ensuring the delivery of quality care for contracted agencies as well as adhering to the mission of St. Joseph Center.

    **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES **

    The Housing Matcher’s key areas of responsibility include:

    Key Areas of Responsibility:

    • Connect homeless families in need of crisis housing and searching for permanent housing to the most appropriate housing resource in a systematic and efficient manner.

    Essential Duties:

    • Administer client databases including generating and analyzing reports, user management, and adherence to Homeless Management Information Systems policies and procedures.
    • Facilitate the prioritization process, work with CES team to create efficient shelter and housing process, adapt process when system barriers are identified.
    • Ensure collective impact model is implemented among agencies.
    • Manage information in the SPA 5 CES database, use CES database to match families to appropriate housing resource, notify identified agencies that match has been made, track acceptance of match made and document in CES database, confirm housing outcome by documenting in CES database
    • Provide on-going support to SPA 5 agencies regarding the CES database – support at times will require travel to agencies in the community.
    • Provide community outreach in SPA 5 to engage new partner agencies, attend all SPA 5 CES meetings, consultation with the CES team, create standard CES database protocol to ensure integration among SPA 5 agencies.
    • Run Weekly Data Quality reports to ensure agencies are entering data correctly, work with CES agency staff to fix any data quality issues, create reports as directed
    • Remain informed on CES database updates and train partner agencies on any changes, participate in all SPA wide CES Matcher trainings, other duties as assigned by the CES team.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter. Must have the ability to communicate with and relate to a diverse group of people including clients, community, and other staff. Must have excellent administrative and organizational skills.
    • Strong time management, data analysis skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
    • The ability to make decisions independently and in collaboration with staff across your region and external partners
    • Demonstrated ability to manage detailed reports, pay close attention to detail, and work under deadlines by multi-tasking and appropriately prioritizing while maintaining flexibility
    • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly present data to a variety of audiences.
    • A bilingual background is a plus.
    • The position requires an ability to work flexible hours including some early mornings and evenings.

    Experience:

    • Experience with database software such as Microsoft Access or SQL
    • Experience with visualization and mapping tools such as Visio, Tableau, GIS
    • Some community organizing and/or coalition building experience
    • Some experience in providing direct services to homeless/formerly homeless people

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in social work, social sciences, public administration, public health, or a related field.

    Direct Reports:

    • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Computer Skills:

    • Computer literacy required. Must be proficient in Internet research, database programs and be willing to learn other applications. Experience with Homeless Management Information Systems highly desirable.
    • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and widely supported internet browsers.

    Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

    • Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
    • Valid automobile liability insurance.

    Travel Requirements:

    • To and from the work site(s) and to meetings and trainings as needed.

    Status: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

    Salary: $22 - 22.50/hr

    Employment with St. Joseph Center is contingent on completion of satisfactory background check.
