Job Description: 10 month position w/the potential for summer days, up to 10.
General Statement of Duties:
Maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of running the Family Support Center so as to be able to supervise personnel and operational activities in the absence of the Director. To provide psychological evaluation, psychotherapy, and Crisis Intervention to clients. To serve as a liaison to faculty, staff, and community resources.
Fulfill the New York State mandated requirement for the School District to have an appointed person for the express purpose of identifying and providing services to students who are homeless.
Reports to: Director of the KenTon Family Support Center & Assistant Superintendent for Student Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate level training and certification in school counseling with additional earned clinical licensure (i.e. LMHC, LCSW)
Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
Experience in individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and outreach programming
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Experience in program development, implementation, and outcome reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Infinite Campus
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with families and students in a school setting.
Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Experience with clinical assessment and crisis management/response.
Experience supervising a counseling office and counseling staff.
FSC Responsibilities:
Suspension Reduction Program Implementation
Food pantry Management
Group therapy recruitment and implementation
General data & reporting
Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Clinical services to employees as part of the EAP program as assigned
Yearly contracts and budgeting
Supervising graduate interns
Conducting intake interviews and carrying a clinical case load as needed
McKinney-Vento Responsibilities:
Know the provisions of McKinney-Vento Act & the responsibilities of the designated LEA
Identify temporarily housed youth & unaccompanied youth eligible for enrollment
Work with families & the district to resolve disputes
Ensure cases are managed with discretion and sensitivity
Communicate eligibility status to student's school and related providers
Coordinate & ensure educational services with home school, assigned teachers & staff, transportation, CSE (if appropriate), or any related providers.
Assist with school resources (counseling, pre-k, academic and college resources)
Assist with any local resources (health care services, dental services, mental health and substance abuse services, housing services, and other appropriate services)
Ensure Data Entry for eligible students in the Student Information Repository System (SIRS)
Report annual data to KenTon & NYS
