The Family Specialist is responsible for the recruitment, development, and supervision of foster homes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make presentations to community and faith-based organizations for the purpose of emphasizing
- Conduct focus groups and question and answer sessions to recruit foster families for Circle of
- Complete home studies on potential foster homes in a timely manner and in accordance with
- Maintain case notes for each family regarding goals and progress
- Assure all case management requirements are completed in accordance with program
- Maintain accurate case records on both foster homes and children placed in those homes
- Act as liaison between the foster homes and the Department of Human Services (DHS)
- Provide support to foster families, while holding them accountable for licensing requirements
- Assist in all aspects of program development and operation as assigned
- Travel regionally and statewide using a personal vehicle
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Present exceptional customer service with high expectations for quality of service
- Ability to communicate thoughts and concerns clearly, both orally and in written form
- Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality

- Maintain a willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the agency

- Ability to use standard office equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to learn additional software
- Capable of lifting heavy objects of up to 20 pounds
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs
- Desire to work in a social service setting
- Become familiar with all of Circle of Care programs and facilities
- Committed to the mission and vision of Circle of Care
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred in social service-related field; at least two
- Pass a thorough background check (including fingerprinting), Department of Transportation
- Possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and a good driving record
