Family Ministry Assistant
Reports to: Executive Director Family Ministries
Job Type: Part Time (20 hours), Hourly
Position Summary
This position will oversee ministry operations and volunteer care in partnership with the Family Ministry Executive Director. The person in this position will need to be an energetic team player with the ability to welcome and manage volunteers and all aspects of the welcoming experience during Sunday services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ministry
Oversee onboarding and assimilation for new volunteers and new families in King's Kids
Oversee and maintain ministry operations on Sunday mornings and special events/projects.
Keep track of the equipment and supplies needed for check-in.
Administrative
First point of contact for Family Ministries calls, emails and inquiries submitted through the website to respond or refer out to designated resources.
Become an expert of Planning Center to maintain the development of forms, workflows and registrations.
Proficient computer and social media skills.
Attend weekly staff meeting to build relationships with other staff members.
Upkeep of accurate child, family, and volunteer information.
Coordinate interest in next steps (baptism, child dedication, volunteering, etc).
Active note taking in meetings to keep track of what needs to be done, by who and when.
Prioritize tasks to accomplish goals of King's Kids.
Monitor website for accurate and up-to-date information.
Update department calendar with Family Ministry events and info.
Work with Executive Director on projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ that is evident in both personal and professional life.
Agreement to uphold the mission, vision, core values, staff values and core beliefs of King's Harbor Church.
Commitment to being a regular attendee of King's Harbor Church.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Ability to work Sundays and extended hours during heightened church seasons such as Festivals, Christmas, Easter, VBS.
Aptitude for building rapport and developing strong relationships.
Skilled in building and leading teams.
Track record of reliability, dependability and conscientious work habits.
Ability to work independently.
Strong organization and effective prioritization.
Adaptability to dynamic work environment.
Strong self-awareness.
Must be able to pass a background check.
