This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees a caseload of students assigned by region
  • Serves as a main point of contact for all non-instructional issues after placement, ensuring students have all necessary equipment and training on both how and when to access their courses
  • Monitors student attendance and engagement and works to contact students who do not attend through a variety of research-based methods through the MTSS Process.
  • Serves as a liaison between students and/or Learning Coaches and teachers and/or administration to ensure that all school personnel understands how to contact and communicate with the student in a manner that builds ties between the student and the school
  • Arranges MTSS conferences, as needed, to address performance concerns
  • Works with the Strong Start Team to assist in the onboarding process for assigned students
  • Conducts face-2-face visits of students, within geographical region, to support the academic, engagement, and social developmental needs of the students, including but not
    limited to addressing barriers, supporting technology training, gaining signatures/paperwork, delivering materials, etc
  • Coordinates with appropriate staff to develop Student Attendance Improvement Plans (SAIP)
  • Works with school staff to monitor student adherence to the school’s attendance policies
  • Recommends families to the appropriate Student Attendance Specialist for tiered truancy interventions as necessary
  • Initiates meaningful, recurring contact by phone with students and their Learning Coaches
  • Chaperones and attends Insight PA events, ie: monthly field trips
  • Supports big initiatives by making the contact and managing the documentation of items pertaining to, but not limited to, Family Income Forms, Re-Registration, State Assessments, Address Updates, etc.
  • Connects student and family to Student Resource Specialist when appropriate
  • Increases professional knowledge and skills by attending required staff meetings; participating in school Professional Development, and seeking other professional learning opportunities;
  • Provides outreach, training, and support to families

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR
  • Two (2) years of college AND
  • Two (2) years of experience in education OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Meets all criteria for employment in a PA public school, including satisfactory PA child abuse, PA criminal record, and FBI background check reports

Minimum Required Skill Set

  • Strong presentation, facilitation and organization skills

  • Interpersonal skills to create collaborative, working relationships with essential school stakeholders

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Web proficiency.

  • An ability to learn new technology tools quickly 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the field
  • Experience working in education
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology

  • This is a flexible position with opportunities for in-office or remote work options. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
  • This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be less than 20% of the time. Travel will be required for face-2-face visits, community events, PD and state testing.

  6. Ability to interface diplomatically with all members of the school community - administrators, teachers, parents, students, Board members, support staff, colleagues, and outside professional contacts.
  7. Ability to coordinate and use technology for a variety of workplace purposes and communications.
  8. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
