Our Failure Analysis Team is looking for a talented Electrical Engineering or Material Science college student to join our team this Summer as a Failure Analysis Engineering Intern in our Palm Bay office. The organization is responsible for root cause Failure Analysis of Renesas' products. The successful candidate will work directly with Failure Analysis Engineers during their internship. An intern working with the team can expect to learn Failure Analysis processes, techniques, and skills during their time with our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Learn the basic Failure Analysis flows and gain experience with the use of optical and acoustic microscope, 3D x-ray tomography, photon emission and thermal microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and a variety of lab bench instrumentation. This equipment will be used to support both customers in the field as well as new product development teams. Additional candidates with software programming and instrumentation control skills will be encouraged to develop novel software tool sets that can automate various bench testing procedures used in the lab.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a BS degree in electrical, mechanical engineering, material science or related technical degree.
- Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is a plus.
- Experience with electrical bench or instrument control work is ideal.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be a self-motivated team player who is able to take direction, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and communicate effectively.
- US citizen or a green card is required.
