Job Description
The Faculty Pool Manager (FPM) serves a critical role in the quality and delivery of both the faculty and student experience.
The FPM will ensure that a pool of qualified faculty is proactively grown to support the delivery of program-specific curriculum by working closely with academic leadership and human resources/recruitment. Post-hire, the FPM will ensure that faculty receive the necessary training by partnering with the Faculty Development Team and academic leadership.
The FPM will proactively schedule faculty, communicate any schedule changes to the necessary stakeholders, and ensure that a diverse pool of faculty is available should unexpected growth or unplanned vacancies occur.
The Faculty Pool Manager will ensure that faculty are developed through performance management and coaching efforts, regularly evaluated to ensure quality instruction is delivered, and routinely engaged through communication and support initiatives.
Additionally, the FPM will work with cross-functional teams and leadership to gather, process, and disseminate information to appropriate stakeholders to ensure that faculty are prepared to support student success.
The Faculty Pool Manager will manage data, prepare and deliver regular reporting, and work to meet and support institutional KPIs.
- Works in partnership with leadership to identify faculty staffing needs.
- Communicates staffing needs to recruitment and works with recruiting department and other key stakeholders to post listings in relevant communities/sites that produce the best outcomes.
- Works with Faculty Development Team and academic leaders to ensure new hires receive required onboarding and training.
- Proactively schedule faculty to ensure all courses are adequately staffed and faculty are prepared to teach.
- Ensures Faculty Pool is appropriately staffed to handle accelerated growth and unexpected vacancies.
- Work with academic leaders and, if necessary, workforce development partners, to schedule instructional spaces for expected cohorts.
- Communicate scheduling, staffing, and other relevant material regularly.
- Collaborate and collaborate with cross-functional departments as needed to perform job duties.
- Track, manage, and analyze data as it relates to job functions to include, but not limited to, staffing, scheduling, coaching, evaluating, and monitoring faculty performance.
- Organize, develop, and deliver reports and presentations to institutional and external stakeholders as needed.
- Identify, coach, document, and escalate faculty performance concerns to appropriate stakeholders to ensure quality instruction to students.
- Communicate and engage faculty regularly to ensure they feel a sense of belonging and community as well as recognize their growth, accomplishments, successes, and care with students.
- Apply critical thinking, problem-solving, analysis, emotional intelligence, and best-in-class customer service skills to ensure all relevant stakeholder needs are being met.
- Assess faculty performance, identify opportunities for improvement, develop coaching plans to strengthen overall faculty performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary starting at $80k
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- Three years of experience working in Higher Education.
- DemonstratEd Experience with performance coaching.
- Teaching experience in Higher Education preferred.
- Knowledge of faculty performance expectations.
- Demonstrated ability with performance coaching.
- Be able to adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Critical thinking, analysis, creative problem-solving, and customer service/emotional intelligence skills will be leveraged continuously.
- Ability to adjust communication appropriately to meet the needs of different audiences.
- Ability to comfortably use the Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Ability to create Excel files and manage/analyze data.
- Ability to generate pivot tables and apply formulas in Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to support and manage a variety of professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to create and deliver written reports and presentations.
- Must be self-motivated and use independent judgment.
- Strong organizational skills are a must.
