The Education and Counseling Field of the Undergraduate School of the Moody Bible Institute (Chicago campus) and Moody Online is seeking a dynamic instructor who is experienced and skilled in Elementary Education with experience in volunteer or vocational Children and Family Ministries
Essential Functions

- Prepare syllabi with Program and Field guidance and input, specifically math, and social science courses (i.e., Probability and Statistics, Developmental Psychology).
- Teach students in assigned courses in collaboration with the Program Head and/or Field Chair as needed within the Field including but not exclusive to Elementary Education.
- Integrate scripture and theology in academic lessons consistent with Moody’s doctrine and Program Guidelines under the guidance of the Program Head and Field Chair.
- Assess student knowledge/skill achievement related to instructional outcomes as approved by the Program Head. Such outcomes are to be consistent with departmental mission and objectives and will be reviewed by the Program Head and Field
- Be prompt in submission of grades, reports, and other required information according to guidelines given by the Field Chair and/or Program Head.
- Serve as academic advisor to assigned students including supervision of Student Teachers.
- Collaborate with the Field Chair and Program Heads with development and maintenance of program goals through student engagement and course instruction, accreditation accountability, course development and course creation in all modalities including Moody Online Courses.
- Provide the Field Chair with professional goals and objectives for the annual performance review and be willing to grow and develop as instructed by the Program Head and Field Chair.
- Engage in Field events and activities as directed with the values of the Field’s service
- Develop partnerships and alliances with ministries and organizations outside of Moody to assist in marketing, admissions, and promotion of programs in the Field of Education and
- Engage in academic scholarship through journal submissions or conference speaking, representing Moody and the Field of Education and Counseling.
- Attend designated chapels and other required events like Missions Conference, Founder’s Week, Faculty Institute, and engage in informal time with students as opportunity permits, in order to further the sense of community, shared values, and experiences.
- Be engaged in professional development, scholarship, and research appropriate to primary discipline and in the scholarship of teaching.
- Perform other duties as assigned such as Placement Organization and/or Supervision of Student Teachers and Conference Planning Administrative tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Hold a Master’s degree in Elementary Education/ K-8 specializations and a minimum of three years K-8 classroom teaching experience, preferably currently or recently
- Work toward a terminal degree as Doctorate
- Have specialization training in math or science pedagogy in elementary education.
- Possess Ministry experience in Children and Family Ministry
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the Christian faith and a desire to integrate faith into all aspects of teaching.
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Pursue personal integrity, passion, and perseverance;
- Demonstrate teaching ability and a proven commitment to educating students
- Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- PhD, PsyD or EdD in Education
- Undergraduate In-Person teaching experience
- Undergraduate Online teaching experience
- Current State Licensure or Teaching Credential

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Hours: Vary Monday-Friday. Minimal travel is expected for this position.
Rank and salary commensurate with degree and experience.
The Moody Bible Institute is a Bible college located in downtown Chicago with an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 1200. The college is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission.
