Facilities Security Specialist

SUMMARY: Our team is looking for energetic and dynamic Facility Security Specialists that will function as the security representatives at the assigned facilities. The role requires strong customer service, organizational, time management, and communication skills. Multiple positions and levels may be filled by this announcement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the day-to-day security activity at assigned facility.
• Monitor the main entrance lobby and assist with visitor control
• Monitor employee parking areas to deter unlawful activity
• Conduct patrols of Axiom Space property
• Complete Daily Activity Reports to record security activity
• Respond to employee requests for security service (escorts, crime reports, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned by the Facility Security Officer (FSO), Assistant Facilities Security Officer (AFSO), or the Protective Services Lead.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree in criminal justice or related field a plus but not required
• 2-10 years’ experience and training as a Level II Security Guard, Level III Commissioned Security Guard, Level IV PPO, or similar role
• Supervisory experience at the site supervisor level or above is highly desired

Essential Functions

• This position is UNARMED
• Work Environment: Generally, outside work, but can involve inside work depending on the task.

Requirements

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
• U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
• Operation of electric cart during patrols.
• Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
