POSITION PURPOSE:
Under direct supervision of the assigned supervisor, perform skilled Facilities Maintenance and minor troubleshooting duties to interior and exterior of facility which includes but not limited to: general facility and equipment maintenance; minor construction and repair; security; and housekeeping in accordance with codes, safety standards and policies and procedures. This position provides support in maintaining a safe, secure and clean facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Uses computer software programs to receive assigned work orders from supervisor and prioritize with other work orders requiring completion; communicate with point of contact in order to obtain additional information to better prepare and complete assignment.
- Research parts and inventory pricing and process purchase order requests.
- Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities to include inventory control.
- Work assignments include but are not limited to: Facilities Maintenance which includes minor repairs and preventive maintenance; upkeep of landscaping areas and watering systems; housekeeping and security duties.
- Perform facility maintenance tasks which include but is not limited to: minor construction, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, fencing, trim work, moving and assembly of desks, bookcases, partitions, and other materials and supplies, clear minor plumbing back-ups, leaks, vents, and ducting in accordance with safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assists Facilities Manager in equipment inspections and performing basic and routine maintenance on equipment and facilities structure.
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment in accordance with safety standards.
- Perform safety inspections in accordance with pertinent standards and ensure appropriate reporting in a timely and efficient manner in support of maintaining a safe and hazard-free facility. Assist and/or perform fire drills, inspection fire extinguishers and fire systems.
- Periodic sweeping, weeding, painting of walls, fire lane and loading zones and housekeeping duties which include but are not limited to: use of cleaning solutions and supplies to disinfect floors, walls, and other surfaces.
- Use and maintain safety material data sheets (MSDA), in accordance with safety standards.
- Perform snow removal and salting tasks.
- Perform security checks and rounds to ensure property, personnel, and patients are provided with a safe and secure service areas in accordance with protocols, policies and procedures.
- Move and store equipment and priority to storage, bull pin, and metal storage boxes.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Successful completion of construction trades coursework from an accredited post-secondary college, technical school or equivalent.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of work experience in general Facilities Maintenance.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
- Effective communication and customer service skills in interactions with staff, patients and all visitors.
- Ability to take instruction, follow direction and multi-task in an effective and efficient manner.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with all levels of staff.
- Ability to perform minor repairs on plumbing, electrical and structural items in accordance with safety standards.
- Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cultural and language differences.
- Must have the ability to interact in a courteous and respectful manner at all times.
- A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
- Ability to be flexible with the work schedule (weekends and after business hours) and perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of equipment usage which includes but not limited to: Tractor, Skid Steer, Scissor lift, Paint sprayer, and generator.
- Knowledge of building code and regulations with any construction project with the Corporation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Healthcare Facilities Maintenance experience.
- OSHA 10 certificate.
- Bilingual skills in English and the Keres native language.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties require using hazardous chemicals requiring understanding and comprehending the Material Data Sheets to prevent minimal exposure to chemical fumes or skin contact. Use of proper precautions, such as proper chemical glove and uniforms is required. The environment will also include working in cold and hot conditions as well as with sewer, electricity, water, oils and a wide verity of tools and paints.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors and staff.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
There are a number of deadlines associated with this position. The employee must also multi-task and interact with a wider variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.
