FACILITIES MAINTENANCE, SEASONAL SHORT TERM

The Kenosha CountyFacilities Division is accepting applications for

Short-Term Seasonal Maintenance Workers for the 2024 season.

If you are a hardworking and self-motivating individual who enjoys the outdoors and can assist in the maintenance of County Facilities, this could be the job for you!  We are looking for staff who can maintain a safe environment, enforce rules, and consistently act in a manner that earns and merits the respect and confidence of patrons.

2024 Hiring Range:  $16.00 to $22.00 per hour

Work Schedule

• Work hours are typically from 6:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Monday through Friday

Position Summary and Job Duties

• Mow and maintain lawns
• Operate all vehicles and equipment as assigned
• Perform general maintenance of buildings, grounds, flower beds, athletic fields, parkways
• Assist in forestry operations
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Success Factors

• Knowledge of general maintenance work with the most efficient utilization of equipment
• Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures applicable to maintenance equipment
• Skill in the use of small hand tools and cleaning equipment
• Skill in performing outdoor semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to grounds and FACILITIES MAINTENANCE
• Ability to accept, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instruction
• Ability to work with limited oversight on projects and daily assignments
• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with the public, employees, and others
• Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment

Job Requirements, Education, Training, and Experience

• Must be at least 16 years old at time of application
• Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record

• Requires full range of physical movement - bending, reaching, lifting, etc.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Work Environment

• Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, including temperature extremes

• Physical Examination/Drug Screen - Qualifying
