Tyndale, a 3x Houston Top Workplaces winner and proud woman-owned business, is actively hiring for a newly created role, Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator! The Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and improving all Houston facilities including but not limited to, facility cleaning/maintenance, utility maintenance, safety systems, exterior grounds, equipment and other physical assets at Tyndale's Houston facilities.
In this "hands on" role, a successful person will be able to independently conduct minor maintenance activities as well as determine if the scope requires more extensive support, then coordinator the needed resources. This role will require general engineering and maintenance knowledge, the ability to work independently to facilitate timely repairs, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine facility/maintenance items and the knowledge to shutdown/restart the facility and equipment when needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all Tyndale Houston facilities to include Houston Distribution Center, CityCentre office, East Houston Retail Store, and any future Houston facilities
- Daily maintenance and repair as needed for all building systems, including back-up generators, lighting (including all bulb changes), air conditioning system, plumbing issues, painting and light construction
- Manage contractors to execute facility maintenance or new installation to include electricians, HVAC, landscaping, cleaning services, repairs, routine and preventive maintenance
- Assist with weather-related management to include storm and winterizing buildings, debris removal and general grounds clean up
- Maintain and improve facility interior and exterior spaces to keep top-notch appearance
- Maintain integrity and safety of all fencing and building security measures
- Assist with building expansions
- Maintain ponds and retention basins as appropriate
- Maintain a log of all maintenance and mechanical-related activities, including an annual calendar ensuring periodic maintenance
- Daily internal/external walk-through to identify and correct any facility issues that need resolution
- Support for maintenance budgeting and spending vs. budget, including the proper issuance of purchase orders for all cash expenditures
- Assist in setup/breakdown of company decorations, celebrations, and events to include all-hands meetings, holiday parties, sales meetings, etc.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned
- Serve as a member of the Safety Committee
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with commercial facility management
- Fix-it skills to facilitate minor repairs
- Ability to safely/properly use maintenance tools and equipment
- Possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license
- Detail-oriented
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to work independently
- Sense of urgency and action-orientation
- Ability to lift minimum of 50lbs.
- Ability to learn quickly
