Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and weld metal components used in the manufacturing of precast concrete products, such as molds, formwork, reinforcement, and structural supports.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and welding procedures.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welders, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform welding tasks, including joining, cutting, and shaping metal parts, using appropriate welding techniques and methods.
- Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of metal components, making adjustments as necessary.
- Perform quality control checks, inspecting fabricated and welded components for defects or imperfections, and making necessary repairs or adjustments as directed.
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production processes and resolve any issues or concerns related to fabrication and welding.
- Follow established schedules and production targets to ensure timely completion of manufacturing tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fabricating and welding area, including cleaning equipment, tools, and workspaces.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, reporting any incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge in precast concrete manufacturing and welding techniques.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Certified Welder or a recognized welding certification is required.
- Previous experience in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the precast concrete industry.
- In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Strong fabrication skills, including metal cutting, grinding, and shaping.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, pushing, pulling heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with coworkers.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow.
