Summary/Purpose
The Setter on the FAB Grind Line will perform regular scheduled task that supports machine uptimes and quality.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence.
• Read dial indicator gauges and other measuring devices to einsure quality standards are met. If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, Machine Operator will be the first responders to troubleshoot equipment and identifying root cause to the problems.
• Responsible for "5-S" and general housekeeping duties daily. Perform major clean up as needed.
• Assist Set-Up and G/L personnel during operation by making minor machine adjustments and tooling settings.
• Train other associates as needed.
• Must be able to lift 40lbs due to customer requirements.
• Support departmental goals concerning housekeeping, safety, quality, productivity, delivery and Standard Work/5s/Lean.
• Maintains knowledge of current quality and safety systems and other regulatory compliance related to this position.
• Reads and understands Operator and QA instructions for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
• Operate all machines on the line, control and adjust size as needed.
• Operate by use of the Andon system, need quick response to any Andon light that comes on.
• Change all tooling on machine; make machine adjustments with minimum or no defects.
• Exchange of tools / wheels and inspection of tools / wheels after usage
• Perform preventative maintenance task according to PM schedules.
• Rebuild machine stations and tooling to ensure machine produce a quality part
• Other duties as assigned by Team Leaders/Supervisor.
• Assist A-Operator as needed to keep the flow of the line going.
• Fill in as needed to perform assembly operations, pack operations and 100% inspection as needed.
• Know and follow Quality and Production Instructions.
• Work in teams to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.
• Perform related tasks as defined by the Department Supervisor.

• Ability to work weekends and overtime as requested by Manager
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
• This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, water, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, extreme heat, mechanical machine operation, etc.
• Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
• This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 125 pounds with proper equipment.
