The Extrusion Operator B, under the direction of the Production Shift Supervisor, will be responsible for learning to run an extrusion line within their designated shift. The Extrusion Operator B will be required to learn and demonstrate considerable skills, knowledge and experience related to running an extrusion line and all associated within a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
- Assist with set-ups, start-ups, operate, and shut down extrusion and down-line equipment. With assistance, the operator may do color changes and die changes occasionally.
- Monitor general adjustments to extrusion line and communicates larger problems to skilled operators and leadership.
- Complete daily duties in accordance with workplace organization and efficiency methodologies.
- Learn, accurately complete and record quality checks, color check, and color set-point controls within the specified guidelines.
- Responsible for detailed completion of production operator reports.
- Learn and demonstrate identification of defects and notify supervision or maintenance of issues.
- Learn and practice adherence to the Bills of Process (BOP) and Critical to Quality (CTQ) standards.
- Assist in packaging of product as needed.
- Ensure that equipment operates to specifications.
- Ensure proper materials are available for daily production according to production specifications.
- Assist in training Production Assistants to perform the duties of their job.
- Ensure housekeeping duties are performed according to the required standards.
- Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by management.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- High School or GED required.
- Six months to one year of experience operating an extrusion line. Must demonstrate understanding of how process equipment works.
- Meet qualification and certification requirements established by TimberTech’s Training Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong decision making, analytical and communication skills.
- Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Work schedule, with advance notice, to accommodate needs of the business.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
