BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Library Assistant is a 10-month, hourly position that reports to the Librarian and Learning Specialist. Hours are 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proctors Extended Time testing in the quiet room of the library.
Assists with after-school library supervision when available.
Performs a variety of library clerical tasks, as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma, training, or experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience as a leader with strong interpersonal skills and a proven record of collaboration and effective management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to relate to high school students and build positive relationships while maintaining healthy boundaries.
High level of familiarity and competence across cultures and multiple perspectives.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
