The Extended Care Director is directly responsible to the Assistant Head of School for supervising the morning and after-school care program at Immanuel Christian School (ICS). The main responsibility of the Extended Care Director will be to provide a strategic and safe program for our Extended Care (EC) students that aligns with ICS's mission. This involves creating a learning atmosphere through study halls, clubs, and playground activities.
Requirements:General Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Extended Care staff.
- Organize and manage after-school clubs.
- Supervise students in the care of EC workers at all times and coordinate transition times.
- Provide safe activities for students after school.
- Communicate with outside agencies on after-school programs and clubs.
- Snack procurement and management for the students.
- Comply with School and Security protocols to ensure the safety of each student.
- Communicate virtually and face-to-face with parents.
- Receive phone calls from parents and outside vendors and respond appropriately.
- All-day Extended Care during Teacher workdays/Professional development days
Qualifications
The Extended Care Director will be a Christian, who is able to give clear testimony to having accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. As a Christian this person should be able to effectively model an obedient Christian walk before students, faculty, staff and the community which we serve. The Extended Care Director should be able to effectively communicate discipline and behavior issues to parents, while teaching each student in a Christ-like manner. This person should be able to manage multiple tasks and programs at once. This person should be comfortable initiating conversations and discussions with students, parents, and ICS visitors.
